Although this book is mainly about the housing campaign around the
Disabled Facilities Grant – Homes Fit for Children, it also in
another sense traces the journey of how one issue can translate into
politics. By drawing on the experience of many different people, the
book shows how, what are everyday situations can be looked at in a different
and more broader way. Many families of disabled children are caught
in situations which are not of their making, some feel there is no way
out and that they are to blame. This publication paints a very different
